If you thought it was impossible to be spoilt for choice when it comes to buying a new CPU, well here’s AMD once more with three more models aimed at maximising the speed you can get from your beloved PC. AMD has launched their new XT line of desktop processors aimed at enthusiasts who want to get just that little bit extra performances without a full motherboard upgrade.

“At AMD, we are committed to listening closely to our customers and the enthusiast community to deliver leadership products,” said Saeid Moshkelani, senior vice president and general manager, client business unit. “With AMD Ryzen 3000XT processors, we’re making additional optimizations to the 7nm manufacturing process to deliver industry-leading single-thread performance and more choice and flexibility for enthusiasts

 

What are the new Ryzen 3000XT Series processors?

There are three new processors in the line-up:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT
  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT

This is the first time AMD has brought the XT branding to its desktop CPUs and AMD is pitching this as “taking a processor you know and love and making it a little bit better thanks to an optimized processor technology.”

AMD’s XT model is claimed to be up to “200Mhz max boost faster than the existing X models”.Then are still based on Zen 2 and still fit in the same sockets, they are just a little bit faster
