This is particularly good news for anyone who had made it two-thirds of the way through the original Mass Effect trilogy, without having the option to buy the third game in the series on Steam. Now you don’t have to split the collection across different services and can get the complete series on Steam.
The two Battlefront games were pretty successful, even if the second did become the flashpoint for a backlash against aggressive microtransactions in games targeting children. If you want to step into the shoes of an Imperial or Resistance troop on the ground, during large scale multiplayer battles, this should be up your street. Don’t go into the single-player expecting much though.
Battlefield is a prestigious, long-running shooter series that has been somewhat ahead of the curve in some regards. It’s hard not to think back to some of the groundbreaking map size and player counts from even some of the earlier Battlefield games, and not think that they deserve a little bit of credit for having inspired the huge trend of battle royale games. I wonder what they have planned for the next entry.

Maybe I’ll see you next Thursday for another batch of EA games on Steam. I’ll be crossing my fingers for Peggle 2. There’s still some big omissions, with neither Titanfall, Titanfall 2 or Apex Legends present on Steam yet. Sports titles like FIFA and Madden are still Origin exclusive on PC, and The Sims 4 hasn’t yet made the jump. Any particular titles you’re waiting for?
