Best Mods for Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 has not long been released but it’s already breaking records, and online stores it seems. While there were hundreds of thousands of dev hours put into the game to make it the best experience possible, modders around the world have already begun on their mission to make Cyberpunk 2077 even better. This includes quality of life improvements, tweaks on visuals, and more all in an effort to make your escapades in Night City even more dialed in.

One caveat to any mods though is that they’re not endorsed by the developer and in this case, CD Projekt Red. This, therefore, means that there’s no ‘official’ way of installing them meaning you have to do some ‘back-end’ techniques to get them up and running. Moreover, while mods and addons aim to provide you with enhancements and improvements, due to their third-party nature, there’s no saying what potential detrimental effects it could have. In-game performance could be one such issue due to adding additional game files and changing settings so watch that FPS counter and keep an eye on GPU temperatures.

Below are our hand-selected picks as our best mods for Cyberpunk 2077. These are the mods that we think offer the best improvements and will be the most stable.

We do have to mention though, install these mods at your own risk as they might run completely fine for some and not for others. We’d suggest making some backup save files just in case anything goes awry.

Cyberpunk 2077 Reshades

Cyberpunk 2077 visuals are some of the best we’ve ever seen in a video game with striking neon lighting and those reflections games of old simply can’t compete with. If you thought that the graphics of Cyberpunk 2077 couldn’t get any better though, that’s where reshades come in.

Now, technically reshades aren’t a mod but what they do is fine-tune those already stellar graphics even further in a variety of ways. Traditionally, you can make games look even more photorealistic by improving shadows, colors, and overall sharpness which we expect to make their way into Cyberpunk 2077 also.

There’s not a whole host of reshades for Cyberpunk 2077 out there currently but as we get further down the line, they’ll be a bunch more, making Night City look even more realistic than it already does. If that’s possible…

Better Field of View Slider

Enhancing field of view is something that makes any game have a more cinema-esque look and feel, broadening your vision so you can see more of the world. In Cyberpunk 2077, this could be just what the doctor ordered, enhancing your field of view even further to essentially give you a Blad Runner-like experience you get to control.

With the Better Field of View Slider mod, you’re able to increase your field of view up to 150, unlocking even more Night City sights to take in.

E to Interact

Gamers are creatures of habit and that’s especially true with PC gamers who like everything right where they left it. When it comes to key binds, this couldn’t be more apparent, having the correct controls in the places you’re most comfortable with.

In Cyberpunk 2077, you can obviously switch up these keybinds to fit your personal style but there’s one key in particular that can’t be altered in-game.

This is the interaction key which is bound to F, not the traditional key it’s usually on and one that’s frustrating players. With E to Interact, this moves the interact button back on E, a more comfortable and familiar option for players.

We expect that CD Projekt Red will fix this issue in later updates but as of now, the E to Interact mod is what you’ll need to pick up.

Saveswitcher 2

We’ve mentioned having a backup of your Cyberpunk 2077 as being something you should probably do, especially when adding multiple mods and with Saveswitcher 2, you can do this with ease. Not only will you be able to back up your files though, you’ll actually be able to create multiple profiles so if you’re in a shared household with others gaming on your machine, you’ll know who’s save is who’s and no one will be stealing your save point.
