A roundup of the top tech news from this week

A look back at the top PCGuide articles from this week

A plethora of tech news comes out on a daily basis so we thought we’d do a roundup of the top pieces that we published on our website to help those who simply don’t have the time to read them all or missed when they got released.

At the start of the week, we saw Star Wars Squadrons be announced, a new and improved version of Star Wars Rogue Squadron released way back on the N64. It seems that immersion has been a focus with VR being at the forefront of the initial marketing, so we’ll see how that one pans out later down the line.

We then saw Samsung release the price and preorders for the highly anticipated Odyssey monitor range which are not only huge but offer a new take on the increasingly popular curved screen, mirroring the curvature of the actual human eye.

This isn’t the only Samsung news, they have also been busy improving the Health Monitor app for Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatches which will now monitor your blood pressure. Unfortunately, the blood pressure monitoring is only available in South Korea as of right now but we hope it gets a worldwide release in the future.

Moving to some PC news, Corsair launched their small but mighty a100 range of PCs that come packed with Ryzen 3900x CPUs and RTX 2080 graphics cards. The prices of these machines are a little eye-watering with the base model coming in at almost $3000 but with the small form factor and stellar build quality, it might just be worth it.

Finally, some sad news for Flash lovers as Adobe announced that Flash support is, unfortunately, coming to an end in December of this year. Let’s be honest though, it’s about time.

We also released a couple of buying guides this week to help you out with some tricky purchases. We looked at waterproof Bluetooth speakers and the best antivirus software for both PC and Mac as well as some how-tos helping you with any problems that may occur when installing said software.

Finally, we put together a bit of a where to buy list for the new AMD 3000XT processors, Intel B460 chipset motherboards, and Intel H470 chipset motherboards, hopefully easing your route to purchase.

We hope this gave you a bit of an insight into the tech news of this week, be sure you check back next week for a whole new set of interesting articles!
