A leaked video suggests that one of Bose’s new noise-cancelling earbud models is set to be launched soon.
Bose has been working on the Noise Canceling Earbuds 500 and 700 for some time now, and haven’t released any earbuds since 2017. In a move to counter Apple’s AirPod Pro’s, Bose seems to have developed some stellar noise canceling earbuds. Although, their name does seem to have changed since the first time we heard about them.
Welcome, the QuietComfort Earbuds, which seems to be the new name for the Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700 and a nostalgic tribute to their earlier over-ear models, like the Bose QuietComfort 35 II (rolls off the tongue much better, to be fair).
The leak was found on Reddit and, though it has since been taken down, it was uploaded to YouTube. So, what did we learn?
The earbuds will have a six-hour battery life. They’ll also come with a case, but it’s unconfirmed whether or not this will charge them, let alone how much. They will also come with a custom-designed microphone array for clearer voices during phone calls, reports What Hifi? And, of course, they will benefit from the company’s active noise cancelling technology.
Bose is set to be a real challenger for the AirPod Pros, I think. It has international clout and stellar technology. Also, the name Bose is almost synonymous with the terms noise canceling, headphones and speakers, so they have an undeniable upper hand in that regard.
Though there has been no official release date or pricing update, What Hifi? Are guessing it won’t be too different from their other models. It’s important to note they have a fairly high price point (although I’d say it’s even more important to note that it’s almost always worth it). The Bose QuietComfort 35 II costs $299, so we’d say that’s a fair guess.
