AMD Radeon RX 6000 series 3DMark scores leak

The Radeon RX 6800XT vs the RTX 3080 scores are very interesting!

Currently, we, along with everyone else in the tech world is awaiting the release of AMD’s next graphics card efforts – the Radeon RX 6000 series. So, in the run-up to that October 28th date, we’re looking for any scrap of information that either gets leaked or officially outputted to the wider world. Thankfully, we’ve been graced with a pretty big leak in regards to the RX 6000 series performance, more specifically, the 6800XT 3DMark scores.

Usually, we’d be pretty skeptical about leaks that make the internet rounds but this one has been backed up by three sources, making it relatively reliable all things considered.

The first of these sources is Igor Wallosseek who claims that he has acquired raw data from AMD and Nvidia GPU offerings which pit the latest graphics cards against each other. Likely, this data will be from third-party graphics card creators, maybe from manufacturers such as ASUS, Gigabyte, or MSI. Below, you can see the ‘leaked’ performance below which is actually extremely impressive, beating out the RTX 3080 in many areas.

This is what Wallosseek actually had to say on the matter:

“If you compare the percentage differences, the picture in Ultra-HD is very different: While the Firestrike Extreme benchmark is supposed to be over 18 percent ahead for the Radeon RX 6800XT, the Timespy Extreme is only a good 3 percent. If one then adds the raytracing implementation of the Port Royal, the GeForce RTX 3080 FE is then proudly 22 percent ahead of the new Radeon. Here, the WQHD resolution of the default settings has been manually set to Ultra-HD, probably for the sake of uniformity. The older GeForce RTX 2080 Ti doesn’t even do too badly in the RT benchmark, but has to leave springs in the other benchmarks.”

This data has been backed up by others such as Wccftech and CapFrameX who also saw similar results to Wallosseek as the RTX 3080 falls short in various ways when compared to the Radeon RX 6800XT. These can be seen below in images and tweets by both parties.

If these leaks are anything to go by, Nvidia must be seriously concerned at what this card can do in practice as well as the potential power of the flagship 6900XT (Big Navi).
