AMD Ryzen 5000 Zen 3 processors to launch October 20th (Ryzen 9 5900X & Ryzen 7 5800X)

AMD is set to announce the next generation of Ryzen CPUs, the 5000 series, on October 8th but, it seems that the actual release of these processors has leaked by AMD ClockTuner creator Yuri Bubliy.

Bubliy stated in a tweet that the AMD 5000 series Zen 3 processors will launch in a phased approach, with the first being the Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 7 5800X on October 20th, and the Ryzen 9 5950X and Ryzen 5 5600X, releasing at a later date. This ‘later date’ might not be too far out though with ComputerBase also putting out a tweet suggesting a potential 5950X and 5600X release of October 27th making the month action-packed for AMD fans.

This is certainly a quick turnaround from announcement to release but it more than makes sense with Black Friday looming. AMD will want to get at least the first batch of these CPUs in the wild so consumers can get their hands on them and slot them into builds, probably alongside an RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 (if someone, somewhere managed to buy one).

Hopefully, the release of these Ryzen 5000 series CPUs will be a successful one overall with consumers actually being able to purchase them and it not following in the footsteps of the not-so-smooth launch of Nvidia’s GPUs.

AMD isn’t stopping there with announcements and releases, with the Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards being revealed on October 28th and having a speculated release date of mid-November, making the latter half of the year one of the busiest times for AMD in recent memory.

Both the CPUs and GPUs coming out of AMD are set to go above and beyond in terms of performance based on the previous generation if leaks are to be believed, so if you’re looking to upgrade your PC, the time is now.

If you are a prospective Ryzen 5000 series buyer, we’ve put together a where to buy page for all of the CPUs no matter if you’re wanting a Ryzen 9 5900X or Ryzen 5 5600X so head over there for all the links as they go live!
