Where To Buy AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series

AMD Are Releasing Their Next Gen Processors

AMD wrapped up their Radeon event, and now we know more than ever about the RDNA2 level GPUs set to head our way, including the newly announced AMD Radeon RX 6800 GPU, the direct competitor to Nvidia’s 3070 – and we have all the latest info on the new GPU right here, including technical specifications, the RX 6800 launch date and price, as well as all the different locations you can find this card to buy it.

This card is appearing at a critical time of year for PC enthusiasts, with Zen 3 processors from AMD also releasing this year as well as Nvida’s latest graphics card offerings (and of course, the new consoles), making 2020 a brilliant year for gamers all round.

Find out how much the AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series, Where to buy the new RX 6800 GPU, and much more below! Want to know more about the other cards AMD are producing? We have all the latest details on the 6800 XT and the 6900 XT as well!

What Can You Expect From the AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series

We have just seen a complete unveiling of all the specification for the AMD Radeon RX 6800, and they are very impressive for a card at this price point.

AMD Radeon 6800 Specifications:

  • 60 Compute Units
  • 1815 MHz Game Clock
  • 2105 MHz Boost Clock
  • 128Mb infinity Cache
  • 16gb GDDR6 Memory
  • 250W total board power

All of this is impressive, especially when you consider that these specifications mean that the 6800 will be capable of playing 4K games at 60FPS in games at the highest settings available, and thanks to that 16GB of VRAM, it’s going to be safely future-proofed for game performance in the coming years – something that the 3070 is not.

In fact, this is a card that can beat out both the 3070 and the 2080 Ti in the developer posted benchmarks, and when you consider that this card will have access to the same AMD Smart Access Memory that is going to be available on the 6800 XT (which effectively increases the base clock speed of the GPU by up to 13% in-game), you are going to have one very quick and reliable GPU on your hands – especially at this price point.

Then you have to consider that the RDNA2 tech itself is going to be giving a drastic performance overhaul over the previous RDNA structure, and the GPUs that used it. You can expect RDNA 2 to feature up to 50 percent more performance-per-watt when compared to RDNA, with the Big Navi chip itself built with over 26.8 billion transistors on AMD’s 7nm tech to deliver a maximized performance, whilst minimizing data movement – all allowing for the 6800’s compute units 30% more energy efficient.

Combine this with the fact that you will be able to expect DirectX raytracing, variable-rate shading, mesh shaders, and sampler feedback from RDNA2 it’s hard not to be impressed by the output of this GPU – especially when you consider the performance output versus both its price and overall power consumption.

What is the release date of the AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series?

Similar to that of the RTX 30 series launch, AMD has chosen to spread out the releases of the 6000 series GPUs. Due to this, the AMD Radeon RX 6800 graphics card will launch on November 18th, 2020 alongside the 6800 XT. The 6900 XT however will come out at the later date of December 8th. Keep your eyes peeled, as we will be posting all of the best places you can buy an RX 6800 GPU right here!

How much will the new AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series Cost?

The Radeon RX 6800 is the budget pick of the 6000 series bunch making it an extremely attractive option for budget-conscious PC builder. When the Radeon RX 6800 launches on the 18th of November, you can expect prices to start at just $579 which is fantastic especially for the tech AMD has packed into the graphics card.
